What will I learn in the Accredited Barista Course?

You will learn how to operate all the coffee machines, make each coffee on the menu, clean the machine & use and set grinders.

Are your Coffee Course Accredited?  What Certificate will I receive?

We have both accredited and non – accredited coffee courses. Coffee School is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 91614) authorised by ASQA the governing body of RTO’s to deliver the SITHFAB204 Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee Statement of Attainment which is nationally recognised.

How long is the Coffee Course?

  • The accredited coffee course is 5 hours including practical and assessment. (For students to satisfy this course requirements after 18th of January,  successful completion of SITXOHS002A OR SITXFSA101 – Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety is required.)
  • The non- accredited Coffee course is 3 hours including practical.
  • The coffee Art course is 2 hours and it includes a free coffee Art practice session for an additional 2 hours (to be used within 1 month from date of course).

What if i have my Food Hygiene certificate from another provider?

If you have done your food hygiene with another RTO, we will need a photocopy of your statement of attainment signed by a JP. 

How will I be assessed?

Both written and practical assessment

Can I buy a gift voucher?

Yes gift vouchers for all courses can be purchased online or over the phone using a credit card. The voucher is valid for 12 months. It can be emailed to you or the recipient. Vouchers are simple to use.

Will I have my own machine?

Yes, each student will have their own machine so there is no waiting.

How many Coffees will I make?

You can make as many cups of coffees as you like. By the end of the lesson you are very confident at making perfect silky milk and each coffee on the menu.

Why attend Coffee School?

Most people attend coffee school so that they get a job immediately or open a Cafe. The first question you will be asked when applying for a job is “Can you make coffee?”

If you have the recognised certificate and you can demonstrate correctly that you have the skills, they will hire you. After completing our Barista Course you will be very quick and confident at making every Coffee on the menu. You will have the Barista skills someone who has been doing it for years.

Who can attend?

Anyone over 12 years old.

Will I get a job after the course?

Yes, Most students who apply for work after the course are successful in getting a job as they can all make coffee correctly.

Is one day enough to learn how to make coffee?

Yes after you have made 50 or more Coffees in one day you will never forget how to do it. In fact you will be very efficient and consistent at it. 

How do I enrol?

Online, over the phone and Face to face.

How can I make payment?

Credit card online or over the phone, bank transfer or cash on the day.

How many students in a class?

Average 10 – 20 students per class and each student has their own machine to make unlimited coffees so there is NO waiting.

How often are the courses held?

Normally classes are held daily unless they are booked out. If a class date is listed on our  website there is availability for that class.

How far do I need to book in advance?

It is best to book as soon as possible as classes fill quickly but if you can see a date on our website it is available.

Is the classroom air conditioned?

Yes

Are all Coffee machines the same?

Yes all commercial coffee machines function the same way like all cars are driven the same way. Once you have learnt on our machines you will be able to operate every machine.

What type of machine will I learn on?

At Coffee School we only use the latest La San Marco Commercial coffee machines.

Once you can operate these machines you can use any commercial coffee machine.

What if my English is not perfect, can I still learn?

Yes you can learn very well even if your English is not perfect. Making coffee is a practical hands on skill so you can learn by simply watching the teacher and practicing.

 Do you offer RSA Responsible Service of Alcohol?

Yes we offer the RSA in NSW, VIC, QLD and WA.

Are the trainers experienced and qualified?

Yes all of our trainers are qualified with the CERT IV in Training and Assessment with many years Industry experience.

Do I need a work visa?

No visa is required to attend. Anyone can attend from any nationality.

Should I get my RSA?

Yes absolutely. Because most cafes and restaurants are liquor licensed they will require you have your RSA as well as Barista skills. By having your RSA you are opening up your opportunities for employment as only non licensed venues will be able to employ you.
