What will I learn in Barista & Coffee Art?

How to operate all the coffee machines, to make each coffee on the menu, clean the machine and use and set the grinders, In short, you will be a Barista. Coffee Art is also demonstrated and 2 hours Free practise is optional when you book into our accredited Professional Barista.

What is a Barista?

The Barista is coffee maker. Put simply the Barista is the person who operates the coffee machine and coffee grinder, makes all the coffees on the menu and cleans the machine

Are your Barista & Coffee Art Course Accredited?  What Certificate will I receive?

Barista Coffee Art course is a non-accredited course.  The certificate you will receive after course completion is a certificate of attendance.

How long is the Barista & Coffee Course?

The barista course is 3 hours. The coffee art course is 2 hours.

Can I buy a gift voucher?

Yes gift vouchers for all courses can be purchased online or over the phone using a credit card. The voucher is valid for 12 months. It can be emailed to you or the recipient. Vouchers are simple to use

Will I have my own machine?

Yes, each student will have their own machine so there is no waiting

How many Coffees will I make?

You can make as many coffees as you like up to 100 cups. By the end of the lesson you are very confident at making perfect silky milk and each coffee on the menu

Why attend Coffee School?

Most people attend coffee school so that they get a job immediately or open a Cafe. The first question you will be asked when applying for a job is “Can you make coffee?”

If you have the recognised certificate and you can demonstrate correctly that you have the skills, they will hire you. After completing our Barista Course you will be very quick and confident at making every Coffee on the menu. You will have the Barista skills someone who has been doing it for years

Anyone over 12 years old

Will I get a job after the course?

Yes, Most students who apply for work after the course are successful in getting a job as they can all make coffee correctly

Is one day enough to learn how to make coffee?

Yes after you have made 50 or more Coffees in one day you will never forget how to do it. In fact you will be very efficient and consistent at it. If you feel you need more practice we offer the 2 hour practice session

How do I enrol?

Online, face to face or over the phone.

How can I make payment?

Credit card online or over the phone, bank transfer or cash on the day

How many students in a class?

Average 10 – 15 students per class and each student has their own machine to make unlimited coffees so there is NO waiting

How often are the courses held?

Normally classes are held daily unless they are booked out. If a class date is listed on our  website there is availability for that class

How far do I need to book in advance?

It is best to book as soon as possible as classes fill quickly but if you can see a date on our website it is available

Is the classroom air conditioned?


Are all Coffee machines the same?

Yes all commercial coffee machines function the same way like all cars are driven the same way. Once you have learnt on our machines you will be able to operate every machine.

What type of machine will I learn on?

At Coffee School we only use the latest La San Marco Commercial coffee machines.

Once you can operate these machines you can use any commercial coffee machine

What if my English is not perfect, can I still learn?

Yes you can learn very well even if your English is not perfect. Making coffee is a practical hands on skill so you can learn by simply watching the teacher and practising

 Do you offer RSA Responsible Service of Alcohol?

Yes we offer the RSA in NSW, VIC, QLD and WA

Are the trainers experienced and qualified?

Yes all of our trainers are qualified with the CERT IV in Training and Assessment with many years Industry experience

Do I need a work visa?

No visa is required to attendf. Anyone can attend from any nationality.
